This is a very well-written and researched book. I'm not quite sure if the author actually likes the subject matter though, since almost every single entry, while informative, looks down on the records and artists that are discussed. He seems to somewhat venerate the old-time radio stars who put out LPs, and almost denigrates almost every other artist who committed comedy to records (with the notable exception of Bill Cosby, whom I think the author has interviewed many times and may have done another book on).Even with that slant, this is a great compendium of spoken-word comedy albums. You are not going to find a lot of information on 80% of these albums on the internet. I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys the genre, as it is well worth the price ... well, at least the Amazon Marketplace price.

I like this book because, as a Big Picture/Context person, I appreciate that the the author ably describes the mechanics of disease in small animal patients. There are plenty of Vet Tech texts on the market that give a lot of detail, but when I went to tech school, I did not have a sicence or healthcare background. I had to totally re-wire my brain. We didn't have this book available, but I wish we had--it would have helped me put the puzzle together a lot faster.A caveat: for the American tech, be aware that this book has a British author. You have to be ready for spelling differences (no big deal) and some unfamiliar phrasing. You might find yourself reading in a British accent, in your head. (I find drinking tea helps.)This book gets only three stars because I think the price is outrageous. That's not unusual for textbooks--as far as I'm concerned, textbook publishers know they have a captive market and can charge whatever they want. But a lot of techs who are now out of school would buy this as a reference/refresher book, only it's out of most people's price range. And in case you don't know, vet techs only make a few quid an hour.(Ooops! It seems I'm off again! Pity.)Anyway. Get this book and, even if you're thick as mince, Bob's your uncle!

Must have map for overview planning of time in Hong Kong. Every city or region we travel to, I look for a quality map to plan out our accommodations, tours, and what attractions or sights are in each neighborhood. This map achieves all those goals, easy to write on (note it's not laminated), mass transit routes clearly labeled, popular attractions and useful information for air, ferry and vehicular travels. I enjoy the free maps most guides include with their books, but often find them difficult to write on or find key locations. This map solves 90% of those issues, but be forewarned it's also much larger than those guidebook maps. I may not carry this with me into public (screams lost tourist) but for overview planning before the trip and while at the hotel, this is a must for any travel binder.

Do bother wasting money on this map. I think for most tourist planning to visit Hong Kong, this map would be useless because it does not provide enough details or the street names for most of the streets. This map tries to show the whole Hong Kong and therefore cannot show the details that you need. The most helpful map I found was the free map got from the concierge at the hotel.

The map is 11 inches longdifficult to fit in your pocket unless you fold itAlso this is more of a 'beginner's' map for people who have no idea of the cityI do not know what edition this is but the subway map is not up to dateThere are 2 new stations added last year that is not on the map

The map is big, but has very few street names. The map is good for a general view of the area, and it identifies many tourist attractions too. Very useful map.

Found the map to be too basic, not big enough to have the detail I was looking for in streets, etc. Shows only main streets.

Can't tell you just how disappointed I am with this book. So many things wrong with it. To begin with, the 'recipes' for marinades read like a list of ingredients a 7 year old would come up with if left loose in the kitchen. There is no writing in this book, it is merely page after page after boring page of marinade recipes. I'd like to see some intro to each or idk ... something that didn't make it seem like pages of grandma's (or toddler) marinades hastily strung together to form what is passing as a book. At the end of the day, the absolute worst flaw is the fact that the contents page will tell you that such-and-such recipe is found on page 67, or 42, or whatever only to discover at that point that the damned pages aren't actually numbered. I mean, really?!?!?! You can't even take the time to make sure the page numbers show up on the pages after being too lazy to write actual content? Do not, and I repeat this, do NOT purchase this publication. It is a total waste of time and money and you would do just as well, if not better, grabbing random ingredients from your kitchen and using them.

I would highly recommend this book to fans of Wutang, or anyone interested in theology from an unbiased place. It is a book I intend to reread the next time that I find myself in a negative place.

I have been an avid fan of the RZA and his compadres in the Wu Tang Clan for about fifteen years and he has never ceased to impress me both with his creativity and unique insight, an insight he has gained by living through hard years and a vision he has possessed since his early days. This book is a spoken version of his raps throughout his career. For those who are not huge rap fans and have a bit of a hard time with the intensity that comes across on Wu Tang albums this book serves as a comparable alternative. It reads in a way that makes you imagine you are sitting in a coffee shop with the RZA and asking him what makes up the essence of his being, as well as what inspired him and his peeps to create the awesome material that they have been putting on vinyl for almost two decades. He comes across as a very accessible, modest and friendly personalty and has the ability to relate on a very basic human level. He successfully fuses African American with East Asian, whether in the realm of life, death, mystic concepts, or pop culture references. He is also distinctly American in the sense that he embodies one of our greatest qualities, that of molding various cultures together to form a new cultural hybrid. I sincerely hope I get the opportunity to chat with him one day and strongly recommend this book to people of all walks of life.

Rza put an extreme amount of useful insight about his life and personal experiences into this book. I thoroughly enjoyed the segment where he spoke about his experiences in New York, the time he fooled people with a paper bag and M.C.ed a party and how that whole incident went sideways. There is so much I'd like to mention but then I'd spoil the whole thing for others. He's plain spoken and articulate simultaneously. Excellent book I definitely think you owe it to yourself to read.

Just read this. It is what it is. Yes, it's smart, but don't compare it to other bio books. No, it won't change your life. Sure, RZA is badass, and if you feel inclined to look into reading it, you will like it. If you are a huge fan, buy it. If not- get it from the library.

The development of his artistry is a solid entrepreneur case study. RZA built the Wu-Tang clan by allowing the individual talents that he gathered to breathe.
