If you love disaster porn like I do.. this is a great story! It has all the elements of a tragic situation that has a happy ending.. I search for so many in this genre (my kids tease me, they think it’s a dark sickness!) but, when some stories end so terrible.. every once in a while it’s a nice treat to have a book with an incredible ending.. not to give it away, but this does!All in all, this has just enough of the past, present and what happens after (a lot of biography book can lack a follow up..) Added perk- I liked how the different chapters were signified as to which group was being spoken about.. it switches between different ships, home and the water.. and all are signified with a new chapter heading. Saves a lot of flipping back through pages to see who’s who again.. bc, yes!! There does come a lot (A LOT!) of different groups involved. Great vacation read- took it pool side and finished over a long weekend... definitely worth a read! Can be read and enjoyed by young adults.. but, probably appeals most to the adult aged crowd. The spouse/children connection of man overboard reach such a gut wrenching level when you can almost feel the pain, as if you were in his place.. and the whole career/ “midlife search” seems more audience as well (but, these topics are addressed and definitely not dwelled upon either.) I feel if you get the book, it won’t disappoint!

During the ordeal, strangers, family and friends did their bit to find him and in doing so their lives as well as his were changed.A harrowing event like this inevitably leaves its mark on all, but hopefully lessons have been learned about life and humanity. We all respond differently to crisis. There is no wrong or right way. This book shows what it takes to survive.I enjoyed the way the ghost writer (CB whoever she is) expressed the tale through the points of view from a number of people. It helped show the full picture of the narrowly avoided tragedy.As to why things like this happen. Perhaps it is to be reminded of the good in people who insist on doing what is right, even though it may seem crazy at the time.Lots of lessons to be learned from this riveting tale.Loved this bit right near the end.‘Life is difficult.’ That it is, without a doubt. However, it is also most certainly full of choices, and it is in making those choices that we as individuals are able to define our future paths in life and create our own destiny.

If you need to read something that proves the strength of the human spirit this is it. I read this quickly because I simply could not put it down. The chapters are woven together between Brett's situation and his family back home, waiting, worrying. Despite the horrific conditions at sea, Brett's personality comes through in his survival efforts, underlining how his friends and family describe him. Of course you find yourself rooting for him the entire time, but at the same time marveling at his mental clarity, imagination, strength, hope, ingenuity. The epilogue explains why, despite incredible odds, Brett was able to survive.

This is an amazing story of the strength of the human spirit. The author's account of being swept overboard and being adrift for 29 hours, while having no flotation devices and suffering from food poisoning makes you appreciate the wells of strength that can be drawn upon in times of need. This book is well-written and fast-paced.

It’s an amazing story about this man’s experience surviving in the ocean! I sometimes struggled to get through the chapters involving the search party. There isn’t much in terms of battling creatures in the ocean, but the final pages in which a doctor describes how nearly impossible it is to survive this long in the ocean is a great read as well. I also enjoyed Brett’s soul searching in which he recalls his younger self and his life as a husband, father, and friend.

An incredible event in an avid surfer's life...it grabs you from the beginning! Wonderfully written, extremely inspiring, letting one realize how very precious life really is, how we should all be & treasure our families & friends!

This book about Brett surviving over 28 hours in the sea has been a wonderful experience to read. I have read this book at a time in my life when I was struggling with scary medical issues. His positive, ‘never give up’ attitude has given me strength through my challenges.

I skipped large portions of this book trying to get past the guy's "life story". I bought this book because I wanted to read the survival portion... This book goes on and on about his childhood, marriage, etc I guess his memoires while floating at sea. I finally gave up so will never know how he got rescued. Marcia English

About the Author

NORMAN NODEL (Nochem Yeshaya) was a noted artist and illustrator of children's books and magazines. Nodel began his illustrious career as a field artist in the army, drawing military maps during World War II. After the war, he pursued a successful career as an artist in a variety of styles, notably illustrating a great many issues in the famous 'Classics Illustrated' series in the 1950s. In the 1940s, he had previously been an assistant to George Marcoux, and he has done comic book art for True Comics and Sun Publications. His contributions to 'Classics Illustrated' varied from 'Ivanhoe' to 'Faust' and 'The Invisible Man'. He was also a regular on Charlton's teen, horror and romance titles of the 1960s and 1970s. In the 1960s he contributed to the Warren magazines Eerie and Creepy, using the pen name Donald Norman. During the last twelve years of his life, Mr. Norman Nodel devoted a major amount of his time and energy to illustrating books and magazines specifically for Jewish children, which gave him great pleasure and satisfaction. Norman Nodel worked to the last day of his life. He died on the 25th of February, 2000.

I read Moby-Dick several times in college almost forty years ago. Now I'm taking a night class and reading it with life experience of forty years. Awe is the feeling that constantly gets evoked as I read. Why awe?Capacious. That is the word that repeats again and again in my head. Moby-Dick is a vibrantly colored hot air balloon that keeps growing in size as I read it. First, Melville's subject is the sperm whale, the largest creature on earth. But we don't just learn about the sperm whale but about all whales. Then we learn about whaling and its nobility. Here is where it gets very interesting. We participate in whaling, its skill, equipment, courage, risks and economy AND about how it results in the gruesome destruction of the whale. We feel the horror inflicted on the whales and we feel the nobility of the activity that slaughters them. Melville doesn't allow us to avert our eyes either to the daring of whaling or to the viciousness of the slaughter. That is where the book inflates even more because he holds both perspectives equally which is a much larger place than if he had taken sides.The book also foreshadows modernism by using a variety of narrative techniques; theater, pure narration, encyclopedic explanations and subjective interior monologues. Melville is constantly breaking up the narrative with omniscient recitations of fascinating information about his subject matter. And like Ulysses or the Waste Land, he piles on the reference to Shakespeare, the Greeks, Christianity and the Hebrew traditions.There are many references with regard to Ahab and the Whale regarding evil and Satan. Yet Ahab has great respect and reverence for Moby Dick. Ahab himself knows he is obsessed and but can have great compassion like his feelings for the lowly addled Pip. So yes there is evil afoot in the book but it isn't the kind that that creates simple polar opposites. As Ahab describes Moby-Dick (has) `an inscrutable malice sinewing through it' that describe the book as well. There is evil and there is also goodness that coexists in the book making the reader feel that he has to take sides. If the reader resists this temptation he or she will experience the awe of a deep and ever expanding mystery.

"Moby-Dick," the Third Norton Critical Edition edited by Hershel Parker, the foremost Melville scholar, is a leviathan of a Melvillean treat and brings Melville into the 21st century. Melville wrote in "White Jacket..." " the books that prove most agreeable, grateful and companionable are those we pick up by chance here and there... those that pretend to little, but bound by much." There is so much added to this superb third edition of "Moby-Dick," including the splendid portrait of Ahab on the cover by Oleg Dobrovolski.In the well-written preface, Hershel Parker clearly indicates how the different Norton editions published in 1967, 2001 and 2017 addresses the times and issues of their publication dates. Parker describes why Melville means so much more to us today then he did to his contemporaries and how our vision of Melville has changed from 1967 such as global warming, the extinction of species and human overpopulation. Parker mentioned that Chapter 105 "... Will He Perish?" of Moby-Dick" is read differently today. No longer do we believe as Melville did "we account the whale immortal in his species."Of course the book contains the authoritative text pioneered by Parker and Harrison Hayford. In this case with numerous added notes. Then Hershel Parker has written a new chapter, "Glimpses of a Melville as a Performer." This section clearly shows the talented Melville as a debater, actor, raconteur, lecturer and a master storyteller thru the eyes of his contemporaries. One of my favorite chapters that appears in all editions deals with whaling and whale craft with nautical terms and the well-illustrated whaling industry section.There is so much new and important material in this third edition. Highly recommended is reading the "Melville Revival 1879-1927."In conclusion it was exciting to read the new rich material in this third edition. Anyone interested in Melville, "Moby-Dick" or reading this classic piece of literature for the first time, needs to have this latest edition on his or her bookshelf. The essays at the end by some of the outstanding Melville scholars are an enriching experience. Walter Bezanson, Harrison Hayford, Greil Marcus, Timothy Marr, Mary K. Bercaw Edwards, Wyn Kelley, Robert K. Wallace, Jonathan Letham and Robert Payne takes us on a voyage and comprehensively bring "Moby-Dick" into the 21st century by addressing the present generation. They cover such "Moby-Dick" topics as the character of Ishmael; the reading and rereading of the book; the "Moby-Dick" in popular culture; the surprising proliferation of "Moby-Dick" public reading marathons; its influence in the arts and even a discussion of the song of whales. This is truly a "mighty book" on "Moby-Dick." When you read this volume, you will have a whale of a time!

I tried. I really tried. Multiple times. But the page after page describing all the different types of whales in the most minute of detail, and the sentences that stretch so long that by the end of them I'd realize I couldn't figure out for the life of me what point he was trying to make. I finally decided life is to short to torture myself with a book I'm just not enjoying, and I moved on. Maybe I'll try again in another 10 years.

A very enjoyable listen. Well narrated and takes a long time to get through, my two main requirements for an audiobook :). I tried reading this when I was young (luckily never given it as an assignment) and it is a tough read. Herman Melville was a master of the poetic phrase and it is beautiful to listen to but a trudge to read imho. A true American classic of the dangers of revenge and mob mentality. It also provides a time-machine like glimpse into the powerful American whaling industry and once again demonstrates the American concept (for good or bad) that whatever the world does we will outstrip it. I was especially pleased with the authors (narrators) view on the belief that mankind could never kill enough whales to endanger their numbers in the ocean and provides an interesting analogy separating their killing from the American Buffalo. Sadly, little did he know of where technology and seafaring were headed just a few decade later. I spent .99 for the kindle book and got the audio for free so I count it as money well spent.

When my oldest son was young, we practically wore out the Wee Sing Nursery Rhymes and Lullabies CASSETTE TAPE (!), and those songs have stayed with me all these years. I positively LOVED this compilation of music and stories, and thought maybe I was just nostalgic in how fondly I remembered them. So I am on "family #3)" (kids 28,24--16,15--7,4) and the original cassette wore out long ago (plus I wouldn't have any way to play it if I did still have it...) One day I decided to try to buy a CD for a road trip, and this was my immediate first choice. The truth is, my kiddos now love these songs as much as all the others have! They are catchy tunes and fun renditions of oft-repeated mother goose (et al.) nursery rhymes. I love all of the Wee Sing tapes but this one is definitely my favorite!Please like my review if I helped you decide in any way. Thanks.

We expected something more like "Wee Sing Greatest Hits" and were disappointed to hear the amount of dialogue and blabbing. It's supposed to be Wee Sing, not Wee Talk! Blabbing is mixed into the song tracks, there's no escaping it.Songs are good, but cut the jibber jabber. Just sing already!

We love this CD! We purchased it as part of a homeschool curriculum and have enjoyed it on most of our car rides. We easily can spend 1 to 2 hours in the car on any given day and my boys never tire of running through this delightful sing song story. The way the story line incorporates childrens rhymes and lullabies is enchanting and we have all memorized the verses. It is wonderful to have something bring to life the nonsense verse and rhymes that have enchanted generations of children in such a modern, revitalized method. We love WEE SING!

And since my Mom had the NERVE to sell our original copy of this one in a garage sale, I just HAD to download it to my iPod before wrapping it.The nursery rhyme part of it, is also set to a story of Georgie Peorgie, Jack and Jill, and Mary going to King Cole's Birthday party, and on the way meeting other Mother Goose Characters.Here are some interesting facts and trivia on some of the nursery rhymes and lullabies.THERE WAS A LITTLE GIRL. Originallly titled "JEMIMA," was written SURPRISE! SURPRISE! by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow about his daughter about a time that she misbehaved. Everyone knows the first verse. I teach Kindergarten and I have used this little gem for many years. We moved temporarily to a different school because ours was being demolished. I lost the book in the move and I couldn't find a copy anywhere. Fortunately, there was a vendor who had a slightly used copy. My students enjoy these nursery rhymes and lullabies tremendously. I sit at the piano and my kids sing their hearts out.

My grandmother used to have this in a cassette when I was a little girl and I loved it! I am beyond ecstatic to have found it in a CD so my children can enjoy it as much as I did/do. I learned most of my nursery rhymes from this CD. The CD teaches children many, many nursery rhymes and they do it in a wonderful story that you can’t help but fall in love with. It also comes with a booklet full of all the music and lyrics so your child can read along with the CD.

This is my third copy of Wee Sing Nursery Rhymes. Two I used with my own grandchildren and this one is a baby shower gift. The kids love it and it teaches them a lot of favorite nursery rhymes. It also provides a "cheat sheet" booklet in case the adults have forgotten the words!

I got this book because I am taking the IVMOOC class offered by Katy Borner/Indiana University.I've done data visualization for the last six years, primarily with Maltego penetration tester's toolkit and Gephi. The Sci2 tool introduced by this class can do many things the other two platforms can not and the underlying theory being taught is good as well.Prior to this I took Lada Adamic's Social Network Analysis class and Matt Jackson's Social and Economic Networks: Models and Analysis, both on Coursera. We're learning to handle temporal, topical, geospatial data, and networks in the IVMOOC class. It's technically less challenging than the others, it's more about exploring the Sci2 tool set and visualizing stuff you already understand a bit.Will refer others to the class as well as purchasing this book.

I was looking for a book to help explain details of manipulating network visualizations and this book was very clear and has a lot of examples. I had also started using Sci2 and this book focuses on that toolset specifically so was very useful. However if someone is looking for a book more generally about visualization and they are NOT using Sci2, this book might be frustrating because it is so focused on that tool specifically.

This is a gorgeous book, and it represents truly breakthrough work that is changing how people look at and understand information. It is probably best for a scholar or librarian - it is not a book for the average reader.

Karl Marx (1818-1883) was a German philosopher, political economist, historian, political theorist, sociologist, communist, and revolutionary, whose ideas played a significant role in the development of modern communism. Marx summarized his approach in the first line of chapter one of The Communist Manifesto, published in 1848: "The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles." Marx argued that capitalism, like previous socioeconomic systems, would inevitably produce internal tensions which would lead to its destruction. Just as capitalism replaced feudalism, he believed socialism would, in its turn, replace capitalism, and lead to a stateless, classless society called pure communism. This would emerge after a transitional period called the "dictatorship of the proletariat": a period sometimes referred to as the "workers state" or "workers' democracy". In section one of The Communist Manifesto Marx describes feudalism, capitalism, and the role internal social contradictions play in the historical process: We see then: the means of production and of exchange, on whose foundation the bourgeoisie built itself up, were generated in feudal society. At a certain stage in the development of these means of production and of exchange, the conditions under which feudal society produced and exchanged...the feudal relations of property became no longer compatible with the already developed productive forces; they became so many fetters. They had to be burst asunder; they were burst asunder. Into their place stepped free competition, accompanied by a social and political constitution adapted in it, and the economic and political sway of the bourgeois class. A similar movement is going on before our own eyes.... The productive forces at the disposal of society no longer tend to further the development of the conditions of bourgeois property; on the contrary, they have become too powerful for these conditions, by which they are fettered, and so soon as they overcome these fetters, they bring order into the whole of bourgeois society, endanger the existence of bourgeois property.Marx argued for a systemic understanding of socio-economic change.

"A specter is haunting Europe--the specter of communism." Thus begins this work, authored by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. It is their literate effort to provide a rallying cry for the communist movement. The call? "The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles." Thus, they lay out their perspective, based on class conflict. Given this view, it is not surprising that they close this rather brief work with the call: "WORKING MEN OF ALL COUNTRIES--UNITE." Why? "The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win."In between is a consideration of the following issues--class conflict (bourgeoisie versus proletarians), proletarians and communists, a critique of socialist and communist literature, and a comparison (and contract) with other opposition parties.In the process, the reader gets a thumbnail sketch of Marx' and Engels' political views (expanded in much greater depth in other works).For a quick and dirty introduction to Marx' thought, this isn't a bad starting point, although written fairly early in his career (1848). . .

Very disappointing that I have to buy this product. Marxs would be very upset.

This was the wrong book for me, but maybe it will be better for you: I was expecting more of a much more clear cut guide on how exactly to overthrow the current regime in order to create a utopian society in which class no longer exists. He does a great job of providing a lot of examples where other versions of communism are wrong and flawed, and why, but never really gives a decent tutorial on how to pragmatically instantiate marxism.. I almost got the feeling like the substrate of reality was such that you can never eliminate the "bourgeoisie snakes from within", perhaps that alluded to the idea that layering a Marxist structure on top of reality means that reality will always poke through, even after it has suffocated and starved enough?? I followed the author on Kindle, we'll see if he publishes a vol. 2 sometime soon!

Got my copy and pages 9 through 40 are inverted and upside down. The entire book is goofed up because of this. I'm not pleased.

This should tell you something about the United States but you will only understand the current chaos of the US if you read the Manifesto, then read it again, and then reread the Manifesto. Annihilate all morality and all religion, establish Free Trade, Centralized all communication by the government, establish Democracy, annihilate Justice, Liberty, and Freedom all to support the New Jerusalem and monopoly of the World Market. Eliminate nationality, family and eliminate borders. Overturn and destroy the existing state of things! In the Manifesto the proletariat becomes more and more 'equalized', meaning reduced to nothing, powerlessness, silenced, in the scripted struggle. This is the real meaning behind the lie of Utopianism Marxist try to sell to people. No one person has more power than the other. You are all silenced and equalized. Think about that for two seconds and ponder the horror. Who has say in the Communist Marxist system? Only the bankers. Not even a billionaire like Trump cannot change the system in the US, so now you have some perspective your Marxist Neo Liberal professor did not give you. Marxism is based on One Totalitarian Government. Communism is a theological creation sold in a secular package to ideologues who don't read or understand Marx's theology.

I read The Communist Manifesto in college, at least two or three times, as part of history classes and even a couple English literature classes, to provide context. Yet, I don't know that I read it this closely back then, or that I took the time then to really think about the ideas and take notes (many, many notes). Back then, I was firm in my idea of "democracy good, communism bad," and eventually came to think of the Manifesto as purely a philosophical essay. But right now we are living in an age of economic disparity that is even sharper than The Gilded Age, when less than 1% of the world's population controls more than 95% of the wealth. And yet, few are really critiquing a capitalist system that sets in motion this inequality. And in looking at a communist plan for a manufacturing plant or a socialist state, there appears to be a lot more democracy and "will of the people" going on. I was already on the path of doing more research, but the Manifesto has inspired much more thought than I expected.

It's very light, which is great if you're packing it around. A very quick read, but I suspect that some readers may want the font to be larger. However, given the super low price, it was high quality.

Well, this literature has opened my eyes a bit toward Communists. I still am not a Communist if that's what you are wondering.

This is the best action adventure mystery romantic thriller series I've read in the last ten years or more 😂. The audible versions are so good that instead of walking me softly to the land of nod, the first 5 or 6 times through they kept me up so late I had to switch to an old Heinlein to finally get to sleep. It has been a LONG time since I've seen an author so good that he doesn't need sex or filthy language to make your breath catch, or me to smack my kindle to turn the page. Characters that are so well developed I couldn't help but be sucked into rooting for the home team. Wife and daughter have both admitted to laughing and crying through the whole series. My eyes don't leak over books ,,, me swears it on the precious 😈

I hope you continue to write. I can honestly say that you are definitely one of my favorite writers. Each book captures your attention from their very first paragraph to the last word. Thank you for keeping me wanting to read more and more, especially of your books. I'm sad now because I have to wait for you to write more books. I know there will be more of the Jack Stratton series because Jack and Alice aren't even married yet and Aunt Hattie is still alive, not that I want her to die, but usually when you fall in love with a character they die off. It will be sad but life must go on. Thank you Mr Greyson

Great read I love this series and Jack and Alice and that big loveable dog they own. This story saw Jack and Alice separated because of the job Jack took and the storm that keep their communication at a minimum. Alice was a part of this story but not the same as when Greyson has the couple together to solve a crime. I do tend to like it better when Alice and Jack are working more closely together. It is a good read with a lot of twist and turns and you really can't help but love Jack. There is also a subplot that gets carried over from book to book which gives it depth especially for the characters. Greyson has a great series here and I look forward to reading more.

I literally canceled a weekend day's plans as I could not put this book down. It blends elements of Hitchcock and Ken Follett with a unique twist and a remarkable main character in a gripping thriller set on top of a mountain as men and murder collide. This was the first book in the series I have read but there was just enough backstory in the plot to explain who and what relationships were without distracting from the storyline, something that is not easy for an author to do. Although the plot has a subplot involving the main character's fiance, the two storylines never clash and the various twists and turns in the story appear seamless. Well done Mr. Greyson. I've already ordered more in the series.

This is author Christopher Greyson's newest addition to the Jack Stratton Mystery Thriller Series, and I'd rate it right at the top of the four books that I've read, so far. All have been 5-Star reads, as Greyson brings you a great character in the form of Jack Stratton, his writing is clear and concise, the plots are interesting, and his adding a sense of humor to his characters is much-appreciated, at least by this reader.You can read a brief synopsis of this book on-line, so I won't re-hash what's already available to you, I'll, merely, state that if you are a fan of good mystery-thrillers, than you'll want to check out this book.

I've read each of the Jack Stratton series. If you liked the early Jack Stratton books, I think you will enjoy Jack Frost. If you are new to the series, I think this book can stand on it's own. It doesn't necessarily require the reader to know the back stories from the earlier books. I found Jack Frost to be a fun read with good action and interesting twists. I was pleased that this book goes light on the "romance" between Jack and Alice, which is an unnecessary distraction (personal opinion) in some of the more recent books in the series. I'm looking forward to seeing the direction Mr. Greyson takes Jack Stratton in the future.

When I saw this book on Amazon, I knew I had to have it. Thinking I would just download and read later as I was in the middle of reading a different book. Once I read the description, I knew I had to read this right away. Bye bye other book. I have read the other books in this series and have eagerly waited for this one. I was not disappointed. I hated to put it down to get some sleep. From the beginning to the end I was captured by the story. The only thing I didn't like is that the next book isn't available yet. Thank you for once again providing me with a great read.

I continue to enjoy his books. I didn't mind that this was two stories in one and I like that he left it sort of open at the end for yet another adventure. I think Alice has matured and this wasn't all soppy love story-ish. Yes they are in love and yes they say it but they acted to me like any other couple would react to this situation. Didn't guess the bad guy this time which was awesome as I read page by page and didn't skip through. A great bargain from Kindle sealed the deal.

I'm biased. I know I'm biased. Because I tap with Vicki, and because she has taught and continues to teach me happiness through tap. But here's the thing -- this is the amazing-but-true, stranger-than-fiction story of how the we came to be, and it truly is Vicki's voicing the story of all of us in Tap Pups. Told in two timelines, the "now" storyline tells of putting on a massive 200-dancer annual Spring Show and the "memory" storyline details Vicki's experiences growing up, her family, and dancing. Also not dancing in some of her darker days. That's what makes the present day an encore performance, that Vicki was able to find her way back to her first true love.What a delight it is that in so doing, Vicki built a community of adult dancers of wildly diverse backgrounds and dance experience, who not only come to class together, but become friends outside of class. Encore Performance will tap at your heartstrings until your toes start tapping too. Fair warning: there is no good place to put the book down until you are on your feet and dancing along with the video clips available via embedded QR code. So pass the Kleenex, and tie on your black-and-whites. It's time to dance.

What a wonderful, heartwarming, touching and uplifting story. This is simply not a book about a woman teaching tap to older women in Harrisburg. This is about a woman doing everything she could to raise her two boys when faced with a husband who had issues with alcohol. This is about a son giving back to his Mother later in life when she wasn't sure what the next step would be. This is about a grandmother-raised during the Depression-who did everything she could to help her daughter deal with similar issues (from her husband) that she had dealt with her Dad. This is about women banding together for each other (some of them only meeting once) to face life's biggest battles...cancer, loss of a spouse, life-threatening surgeries, etc. For me, it's a cross between 'The Help', 'Billy Elliot', 'Steel Magnolias' and 'Mamma Mia'.Everyone can take something away from these stories...it's never too late in life to not only find your passion, but lead with it.

There is something in this book that will strike a chord in everyone! All of us who grew up in the fifties and sixties will recognize something Vicki has written about and it will catch you in your heart and make you cry and then make you want to get up and dance--even those of you who are not dancers! I stayed up until 2 a.m. finishing this book; I could just not put it down. Each chapter in the book has three parts: What is happening at specific times of day during the Tap Pups Spring Show 2011, where Vicki is walking throughout The Forum and seeing her dancers. The chapter then morphs into a story about a specific dancer, which then makes her remember an event(s) in her life. This format makes each chapter startlingly real and fresh, but still goes back to Vicki's life story. Her story will make you cry, but will ultimately make you want to laugh with joy--and wish that you lived in Harrisburg, PA so you could join the Tap Pups!The book is well-written and literate. The story pulls you along easily, and all of a sudden, it will be 2 a.m. for you, too! HIGHLY recommended.

I will have to admit first.. that I too am biased. I tapped with the Tap Pups. And I have always admired Vicki. That out of the way, now let me be honest. The book was a page turner. I picked it up and couldn't put it down until I finished it. I loved how she used two timelines, the present and then her heart warming story.Vicki is an inspiration to us all. She brings joy to classes. You go there to dance, but come home with more than that. Hard for me to put into words what she gives to us .

Reading a review in the newspaper caused me to "just try a chapter or two" in the library, and I couldn't put it down. (Well, just long enough to check it out to take home.) Finishing it within a day or two, I found myself making a list of all my female friends who'll be receiving it as a present this year. Need one now for my home library, too. I never took tap as a kid, never really interested, but the female camaraderie and support in Tap Pups sounds so darn appealing I think I'm going to sign up for the Absolute Beginner class. Love the author's strength and courage in creating such an amazing second act for herself, and kudos to Brian for his part.

Read this book and you will laugh and cry on the same page. A story of a single Mom and her determination to support her family . She has changed an entire community of women( and men) of all ages. Teaching them to tap and learn the lesson , you CAN do what ever you put your mind to..... It will be an inspiration to every baby boomer, Get up and move, you will SHINE. Scan the bar codes in the book and see the Tap Pups in action and meet Vicki and hear her words yourself, sooo cool.

WOW!This story is told in a unique and wonderful way - it is hard to put the book down until you finish reading it!It is the story of many women and how their lives are intertwined around Vicki's life story. It is well written and inspiring, with life lessons for all! My sister also loves this story and wishes she could be a Tap Pup. I also bought the book for my daughters and they can't wait to read it!
