This is much information packed in a small package. Down to earth discussion on what to expect as you travel up the shore from Duluth! Really enjoyed the fun insightful commentary by a fellow rock hound and lover of the great outdoors. Lake Superior is special and Sparky gets you interested in hopping in your car to go explore the trails along the North Shore!
Much fun rock hunting at Whitefish Point, 10 miles from Paradise, Michigan after purchasing this book. Some of the most beautiful rocks we have ever found are from Lake Superior. The depth of color Lake Superior provides is due to the extreme cold temperatures of the Great Lake.
The pictures are not real pictures. They look like they are out of a cartoon
We used this book while on a couple trips to the north shore,was handy and informative, really helped us find some great picking locations !!
We found some secluded areas and the kids loved the rocks we found
I was looking for photos of stones that might compare to the stones on the Bay of Fundy. The pictures were mostly drawings, and although well done, couldn't form a comparison. I found the book to be informative on the creation of Lake Superior which was quite interesting
This was a good book, it wasn't as long as the others I purchased but was very informational.
Waste of money, colored illustrations, no photos. Reminds me of those free booklets you pick off a rack at tourist travel center.
